I have a quadrajet that is supposed to be for a 67 gto. The little button or round disc is missing. How do i identify it?

Check for cast numbers on airhorn 7033604 (inside if Rochester mfd), float bowl 7033883, and throttle plate 7033616 or 7035733 (late ?).
Also, fine stamped number on side of airhorn above choke pull-off 32226 and beneath fuel inlet on float bowl 33884 A/T or 33985 M/T.

Ok, The throttle plate and float bowl have the correct numbers.  I'll check the others.  Don't know if this is the automatic or manual quad.

The manual transmission (M/T) carb will not have the 1/4" vacuum tube above the vacuum tube for the choke pull-off, like the carb for automatic transmission (A/T) has for the trans vacuum modulator.

I have seen factory remanufactured M/T "frankencarbs" with added A/T modulator tube, so look for fine stamped number beneath fuel inlet on float bowl 33884 for A/T or 33985 for M/T.
