Hey Cliff, I think I'm ready to order a carb kit.

I eventually found a 7045584 qjet for a mid 70's GM truck, but haven't torn it open to see if it's been tampered with.

My compression numbers are in my previous post, and the 402 big block chevy has vacuum of 16-17 inches at it's current idle of 8-900.

As stated earlier I was not told how radical or to which specs the engine was rebuilt; don't know what cam if it isn't stock, or what compression is, if not stock. Engine seems to run healthy otherwise.

I'd like to get this qjet on the motor so I can throw away the autozone edlebrock somone put on there.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Good choice for what you are doing.  It will like a slight recalibration for the big block, jets, metering rods, PP spring.

Check the choke pull-off to make sure it works and holds vacuum.  Not a bad idea to take it apart and look around to make sure it's all there and not tampered with.

I'm in the shop 7am-4pm, M-F EST....tks....Cliff

Perfect, I'll tear it open this weekend and also connect the pull-off to a vacuum source.
I'll get a hold of you monday. Thanks Cliff
