why 2 of these in Cliff's kits?
« on: September 10, 2022, 12:14:17 PM »
In the kits I've gotten from Cliff, there are 2 of these small black seals/grommets. I realize one is the seal for the choke shaft to carb body hole. What is the other for? Or is it just an extra? Thanks.

The other might go on the accel. pump.

Thanks for the thought, but I've never found one of those on the accelerator pumps of the multiple q-jets I've disassembled, so I don't think one goes there.

Thinking further about it, I believe I've figured it out. I believe the 2nd one goes where the choke shaft goes through the choke housing, in case you take the choke completely apart.

If your carb has a "hot air" choke the second one seals the choke shaft inside the housing.  You have to take the hot-air choke apart to install it....
