17056212 replacment
« on: November 25, 2023, 06:37:33 AM »
I have a quadrajet 17056212 ABH 1996. It is on a 305. I would like to replace it with a newer model but do not know which one will bolt up. Also on a tight budget so I need a model that will not break the bank.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Need more info.

What intake manifold?

What year, any mods done to the little 305?

Do you have one of my books?  There is a chapter on carburetor selection which will tell you more about the various models and which ones work are the best choice, etc......

The best I can tell about this motor is it is all stock and came out of a Chevy blazer 1984.

Thank you for the information but I really don’t want to spend 35.00 dollars to look up what other carburetor I could use on my motor.

You might want to learn what to do with the carb once you find it?

Best $35 you will spend if you want to know anything about Quadrajets.

Not saying it’s not worth it but I don’t intend on rebuilding carbs. I thought someone on this site could just give me some advice about replacing my 1705 and what would be a good option.

I would look for any 1976-79 M4MC or M4ME passenger car unit or 1979-88 M4MC or M4ME Truck unit and modify accordingly for the application.
