17080513- 2 choke pull offs

(1/2) > >>

GSP7:
My 17080513 has two choke pull offs . One in back and one in front .

When Im ready to rebuild it, Can the on of (or the front) pull off just be eliminated ? Or do I need to use both pull off?

My 17080213 only has the rear choke pull off but has a different type secondary air flap lever

Kenth:
From factory both units used both front (primary) and rear (auxilary) pull-offs.

The rear p-o is really not needed for performance usage.

No, My 17080213 only has the rear choke pull off but has a different type secondary air flap lever

Cliff Ruggles:
Some 1979 and later Truck carburetors use two pull-offs but the rear one is the "primary" as it unloads the choke on a cold start and has a link up to the secondaries.  On those models you must retain the rear pull-off but can omit the front one.....

Both should have the same slotted air valve lever. Thus the front pull-off is the primary unit.
Seems like one of your carbs is a "Frankencarb"?
