pull over enrichment tubes??
« on: June 01, 2025, 01:58:49 AM »
Hi, I recently bought a q-jet from a swap meet off a 1976 Pontiac # 17056564 which I plan on rebuilding. It looks like someone has been in there and I’m not sure what is supposed to be going on inside the air horn. The main well bleed tubes are correct but it looks to me as though the secondary accelerating well tubes have been put in the holes for the pull over enrichment tubes as they are in very loosely and look like secondary accel tubes. The main thing I’m not sure about is should this carb have pull over enrichment tubes? And any ideas of the height they should be poking out? I think I have read the POE tubes are not necessary, if so do I just leave them out?
Any help will be appreciated
Thanks

If used the primary POE tubes were much longer.  I would remove those tubes from the current location and install secondary POE tubes in the correct location.  I've never found that primary POE works well on the later units so seldom use it.....

Cool, thanks Cliff. I'll remove the POE tubes alltogether and put the tubes in the secondary tube spot.
Thanks
