Demo Carb
« on: April 10, 2011, 10:02:45 PM »
We are in our 2nd year of building a demo car. The carb we have is a qjet that has been rebuilt only once. My problem is just about every hit, the car will die. It will start right back up, but it gets annoying being a sitting duck for someone else to come along and drill the car. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Some people have told us to set the float lower and others have said to set it high, so I am confused on what to do with it.

Start with the basics.   Rebuild the carb with good parts that are ethanol compatable.  We sell SR kits for $34.95.  In most cases the symptoms you are describing are from insufficient accellerator pump shot.  Float level has little if anything to do with it.....Cliff
