Some advice for a newbie
« on: February 21, 2012, 05:16:14 PM »
Im building my son a 1979 El Camino, 229 v6. Currently it has a dualjet 2bbl. I have purchased an Edlebrock 2111 intake manifold and plan to use QJet 17059216 to meter the fuel the little 6.
As I read, this carb is using a 72 jet, 40 main rod and  CH secondary rod. Is this correct and would this be appropriate for the little 6 with nothing more than a stock cam, aluminum intake and headers and changes in today's fuel? If not, could someone recommend what should be purchased from Cliff for this specific application.
I appreciate this forum and those who share the knowledge.

Darin in Kentucky.
