Thanks Jay.  Also thanks to all those who signed up recently.

We did a major clean-up in the shop over the holidays, and installed a new shop lift.  I had some minor surgury planned, still recovering from that, with a few minor complications, but nothing serious.

Looking forward to another great year, lots of good things in the works, including some camshaft testing with our new engine, and building a 455 for a good friends car with ported iron heads and upgrading to a roller cam.  Hoping for some low 11 second runs out of it, it was running low 12's with unported heads and a flat hydraulic camshaft.

I'm also going back to the factory iron intake on my engine, so see how it compares to the Edelbrock RPM intake that we are currently running?

We are also upgrading our parts inventory with lots of new stuff.  Also adding more items to our custom HP rebuild/recalibration kits.

Happy New Year!!......Cliff

HI Cliff,  just found your site  got a few ?  I have a quadrajet carb when I got it, it was in a few pieces.  first of all the numbers  on it are 7028219 DG can someone tell me what application it goes on? I think its a 68 chevy but what size motor?  I bought a basic kit for it when I took the top plate off  there are only two brass tubes (idle tubes) and no secondary feed tube  I compared it to a later model that I have . Does this model only have two or am I missing them?  thanks for any help and I think Iam missing some of the choke parts   I might send it to you  so you can make sure its going to work right    thanks again Jerry   ps I bought some  48 pontiac heads off you a couple of years ago

It's a 1968 Chevy carburetors.

The two missing tubes were for the POE system, which wasn't used on many 68 Chevy models for some reason?  The POE system can be added during rebuilding, we do it to all 68 and earlier carburetors that didn't use it.

The two tubes that remain are not idle tubes, they extend into the secondary fuel supply passages and add some emulsion air to that system.

The idle tubes are the same as all other q-jets, pressed into the main body toward the front of the casting.....Cliff

Hi Cliff, I have just received your book and am planning on starting my rebuild soon. I have a question about my carb (#17086047). The carb has both primary and secondary choke pull-offs. Can (or should) the secondary pull-off be scrapped or is it advantageous to tuning. Thanks

The secondary pull-off can be removed IF there is a link from the primary pull-off up the the secondary airflap shaft.  Some models used both pull-offs, but two links from the rear pull-off, one to the choke and one to the airflap shaft......Cliff
