Carter Q-jet 7040264
« on: August 10, 2015, 12:49:17 PM »
Hi, I am cleaning up a 7040264 Q-jet for a 1970 gto. It looks like this carb does not use the APT feature. Can not find
anything in the main body or the base plate for APT. Is this correct,  Also need the factory specs for this carb.
Thanks
Ken

 Welcome to CHP!

I don't think that carb came with the APT. I could be wrong though.

Stocks specs for it were, .070" Primary Jets, 41 Primary Metering Rods, "K" Secondary Hanger and BP Secondary Metering Rods.

APT started with the "1705" series carbs in 1975 .

I'm pretty sure they started before that.  Those 170 series have the "late" APT.  There was an earlier version of APT, different from the one we're used to see on the 170 series.

I'm pretty sure the 704 series finished at the end of 1974 and the 1705 series started at the beginning of 1975 .
