I have ROCHESTER #17085213 can I use it on my 1971 Olds 442 automatic 3.08 rear ratio?
The stock carb should be 7041257 but the one on the car has no numbers. The secondaries on the car don't open and fuel leaks out of the bowls.......... so if it sits a few days the bowls are empty. You have to crank it a lot to get it to fire up.
Thanks

is that a computer controlled carb? if not and it has all the same linkage that would be a nice carb. cliff the master can sell you the correct parts to set it up. all you have to do is wait for him to reply.fwiw im working on a untouched 17085004 from a 1985 454 chey 1 ton it is not a ccc carb. dean

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\so I take that it's a good carb to build for my Oldsmobile. It's pretty much stock and what I found about the carb is it's a truck carb for a Chevy but I'm not sure about the carbs' use. I'm not sure if it was ever rebuilt before but  the shafts are in great shape except it was for a Chevy truck undisclosed displacement . Can this carb work with a stock 1971 442 automatic without too many alterations ??
I read the book and not sure if it's stage one?
 Thanks

does it have the kick down features?not sure how a 1971 442 trans kickdown works. there are a lot of guys on this site that play with them.they would know .your new carb should have elec choke so you can get rid of the old stuff unless your trying to keep it stock looking.cliff sells a nice elec choke and new pulloff plus all the proper jets and rods. dean

You can't make a 1985 carb stock looking 1971 model :-*
