Yesterday I went to the Swap Meet in Lincoln, NE. and picked up two complete carburetors and one parts carburetor. The 7037216 is listed as a 1967 396/427 model carburetor with a air pump (Cal. carburetor). The interesting thing is: rather than these numbers being stamped on a small, round, metal tag attached outside of the carburetor by the accelerator pump. The numbers are stamped at the back of the carburetor, same side, in a vertical position, like on the 1969 and up. It also has a date stamp: 1232. I believe this to be 1971, the 232nd day. Is this carburetor a GM replacement carburetor and is that why these numbers are positioned where they are? Am I reading this correctly? Billy 2
