Too Large Idle Channel Restriction?
« on: April 19, 2010, 08:25:22 AM »
I have a '68 Chevy 327 carb 7028213. The idle down channel restrictions are .063. Recipe #1 calls for .046. Engine is close to stock stock 350 and other idle circuit passages are pretty normal, .039 idle tubes, .079 upper idle air bleeds, .070 lower idle air bleeds, .083 idle mixture screw openings. Are the large idle channels restrictions going to cause a problem? Is there any easy way to downsize them?

We have replacment restrictors here, $2 per pair.

That's a pretty generous idle fuel set-up, more idle fuel everyplace than I use on my roller cammed 455 engine!......Cliff
