Base gaskets organic material vs. Phenolic resin

Have seen both types for sale on the net and have heard that the phenolic is supposed to be better by acting as a heat insulator to prevent the carb fuel from percolating in the bowl. Any truth to this? All comments welcome.

I doubt it. The thicker base gaskets are excellent insulators....Cliff
